SCHENECTADY COUNTY DEMOCRATS DENOUNCE SCHENECTADY REPUBLICANS' DECEPTIVE PRACTICES

"Republican Brand is so Toxic, They are Impersonating Democrats"

Schenectady—Schenectady County Republicans in Rotterdam have been caught red-handed distributing palm cards calling themselves "Blue Dog Democrats"! Schenectady Republicans appear to be admitting what we already know: The Republican brand is toxic!

Schenectady Democratic Committee Chair, Frank Salamone, called out the newly elected Schenectady Republican Chair, Liz Joy, for these abhorrent campaign activities. "When Liz Joy announced her election as Schenectady County Republican Chairwoman, she said 'This is a new era for our committee and I will work hard every day to make our party prouder, stronger, and better,'" said Salamone. "What we never could have imagined was that by 'making the Republican party prouder, stronger, and better,' Joy meant pretend to be Democrats and trick Democratic Party members into voting for Republicans," Salamone continued.

The piece distributed by Rotterdam Republicans, under Joy's leadership, calls itself the Schenectady County Blue Dog Democrat Coalition, and instructs voters to Vote Row B and that it's providing Democrats a voting option.

"Voters may not realize it, but "Row B" refers to the Republican line on the ballot," said Salamone. "The Republicans realize that identifying their candidates as members of the Republican Party is bad for business, so now they are claiming to be Democrats," said Salamone. "Republicans pretending to be Democrats demonstrates that Liz Joy is not interested in presenting a positive message for our community, but is instead resorting to deceptive tactics," said Salamone. "Of course, what do we expect from the Committee that refused to denounce Joe Mastroianni's mail theft," Salamone concluded.

Schenectady Democrats have delivered time and again for our community: The Schenectady County Property Tax Levy is lower today than it was in 2016 and the 10 year average County property tax levy increase is 0.00%. Democratic leadership has generated over $2.5 Billion in private investment, created over 11,000 new high-paying jobs, and invested in public safety, parks, and educational opportunities throughout the County. "Liz Joy and her cohort know they cannot compete with this record of success so they are resorting to bush league tactics, said Salamone. "We know voters will see through this nonsense and vote for the team that has delivered real results."
